4 Ways to Enrich Friendships in February

Thoughtful ways to connect with family and friends in February.

February is often known as the month of love, but there is so much more to this month than Valentine's Day. February has a surprising number of celebration days to help us nourish our relationships with our nearest and dearest.

Below you'll find a little round up of these days. I encourage
you send a card to your friends or family on one of these days. Pick
whichever notable date seems the most authentic to you and send a
little hug in the post.

TUESDAY, 7 FEBRUARY 2023 - Send a Card to a Friend Day

Cosy, dark winter nights are perfect for curling up on the sofa and sending a postcard to a friend. And dark winter days are the best days to receive snail mail from a friend.
If you have ordered something from me over the past few months you'll have received one of these postcards for free. This is the perfect time to send it to a friend! Get cosy, light a candle, grab your favourite hot drink and write a postcard to a friend letting them know what you've been up to this year so far.

Of course there are lots of other amazing cards in my shop for you to send if you don't have a postcard (or have sent it already).
Keep in touch with friends and family this winter. Image shows a hot cup of tea, a postcard for a "deer friend" and pen.

MONDAY, 13 FEBRUARY 2023 - Palentine's/Galentine's

A day to celebrate your best friends - the ones who listen to us complain, support us when we are down, celebrate with us and sometimes call us out.  Take some time out to write a card and let them know how much they mean to you.
This cheese fondue themed card is my most popular Palentine's/ Galentine's Card. It's cheesy, punny and full of the warmth of friendship.

TUESDAY, 14 FEBRUARY 2023 - Valentine's Day

Valentine's Cards have been around quite a long time! I have vivid memories from my teenage days of standing in card shops reading all the Valentine's Cards, some funny, some romantic, some rude and some very cheesy. It took an age to pick one, it was quite a decision!

I had a little look into the history of Valentine cards. Apparently Valentine's Cards go back even further than my teenage days ;) and were the in thing to send in Europe since the Middle ages. The printing press changed them to more mass produced cards in the early 19th Century.

Let's keep this tradition small batch, handmade and unique with this Valentine's Card. I make this personalised Valentine's card in my studio just outside of Zürich, Switzerland. Each heart is completely unique, a mini piece of art.

FRIDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2023 - Random Acts of Kindness Day

Of course it’s great to sprinkle kindness throughout everyday and I think most of us do that, but the aim of this day is to inspire a random act of generosity to brighten someone’s day without expecting anything in return. Use this day as motivation to send an extra special card to a friend and make them smile.

The resin hearts on a greeting card are ideal as each card can be personalised with your message. There are three styles to choose from - ocean hearts, Swiss lake hearts and, the one below, Summer Nights by the seaside. Each heart is one-of-a-kind and will be treasured for years to come.
I hope this post inspires you to connect in a thoughtful way with family and friends this February!
Let me know if the comments if you send a card and on which of these friendship celebration days.
