Commissioned Ocean/ Coastal Paintings

I'm thrilled to announce the return of commissioned resin ocean paintings! This has truly been a long time coming.

The uncertainty brought by COVID and the disruption to my work hours, primarily due to my children's school schedules, put a pause on creating larger pieces of artwork. However, last year I gradually started working on larger pieces again and remembered how much I love it.

All the larger pieces I created last year have sold, and with resin week approaching, I decided to create space for commissioned pieces once again.

What is Commissioning?

Commissioning a piece means we collaborate to create a unique work of art tailored to your specific requirements and preferences.

The Process

Here's a basic overview of the commissioning process for a resin ocean painting:

colour of the water

Warm or Cool Seas

Choose between a warm European sea (this example), a colder sea with darker blues (think North Sea), or lighter blues with more transparency reminiscent of Hawaii.

Beach Details

Options include shimmering pigments, fine gold glitter, natural fine sand, or black pebbles.

Size & Orientation

Where will it hang?

Before starting the piece I need to know whether the piece will be hung landscape or portrait. I typically work diagonally with the waves to create movement.

Various sizes are available (see below), but custom sizes can be discussed.

Layered Waves

All my resin painting I used layers to create depth and interest.

In this piece additional layers were made visible to enhance the experience of the waves lapping the shore.

Real sand texture and crushed iridescent shell-like pieces add lots of interest and help further create the feeling of movement.
