Across the Miles Puffin Christmas Card

A puffin themed Christmas 2022 tree ornament to send to family and friends overseas. This is the perfect letterbox gift for sending love across the miles to those who are far away in miles but close in your heart.

The pandemic has kept many family and friends apart, and many who live overseas have found it difficult to travel "home" to see loved ones. This decoration has been designed with those who are far apart in mind and was inspired by that cute little bird - the puffin.

When I learnt that puffin's spend most of the year out at sea, returning to land and their burrow for only a few months of the year, and usually the same burrow, I couldn't help but think how similar that was to the life of those who moved far from home or to another country. It's hard to be apart from family and friends, especially at Christmas, and this thoughtful card and ornament combo can really bring a smile to your loved ones face year upon year as the decoration is hung on the tree.

The ornament features two puffins, one giving the gift of a Christmas bauble to the other and both are perched on a banner. The banner reads "Far Apart but close in heart", and the card is printed with further message reading "Sending Love Across the Miles". The ornament is available individually or on a greeting card. It's light weight and flat making it easy to post. The puffin's are a digital college of an illustration and my ink paintings. The design was then printed onto birch plywood and threaded with red satin ribbon.

The back of the ornament can also be personalised with a name or a family name. It can be personalised with a message too but please contact me via Etsy Convos/Etsy Messages for a quote before ordering and to check that the message is possible (the text size can't be too small).

Card Size: 7x5 inch folded card
Envelope: Kraft Envelope, with card postal protection layer & Sticker Seal
Card Texture: Linear Textured card with printed a pale blue on the outside, cream on the inside.
Greeting Card Design: Pale blue background with blue snowflake dots along the top and bottom of the card. The puffin and banner is printed directly onto the card with the decoration sitting on top. The ornament is fixed to the card through a small punch hole and secured with a small piece of tape on the inside. Another banner has been printed on the card saying "Sending love across the miles".
Inside: Blank for your own message.

Ornaments ordered without Greeting Card is presented on an A6 card with similar design to the greeting card.

Please note that Birch Plywood is a natural material which means that the colour, grain, and texture of each decoration will be slightly different from those photographed. The wood grain may also be visible adding character to the ornament.
