Swiss Chalet Ornament: Artisanal Souvenir for Cherished Memories

Found throughout Switzerland the Swiss chalet is a traditional style building which became popular in the late 18th century to early 19th. This traditional Alpine cabin features iconic red wooden shutters, flower filled window boxes and traditional wood stacks and can be found in lush green forest and in Swiss villages. This Swiss Chalet Ornament is a lovely souvenir or keepsakes for anyone who has vacationed in the Swiss Alps. 

This Swiss Chalet Decoration makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves the beauty of the Alps or has fond memories of their time in Switzerland. It’s an ideal keepsake for friends and family, perfect for celebrating the holiday season or as a thoughtful gesture throughout the year.

The wooden chalet shaped ornament has a collage of my illustration with ink painted printed on it. It depicts lots of the traditional details like the red shutters and wood stacks and the UV printing ensures that no detail is lost in its reproduction. There is a bright red ribbon attached at the top of the cabin which matches the red of the wooden shutters and means it is ready to hang on a tree or around the house on hooks or handles. 

This ornament comes with two option:

• ‘Without greeting card’ - the decoration comes attached to an A6 backing card (description below)

• ‘With greeting card’ - the decoration is attached to a 7x5 inch greeting card and comes with an envelope. (description below)

The backing card and greeting card have a traditional stamp look edging around a sepia line drawing of a Swiss mountain landscape. The illustration shows mountains, distant trees and close up trees. The Swiss chalet keepsake is attached to be in the middle of the scene. Below the mountain cabin are the words ‘with love from Switzerland’ in a cursive text in a matching colour. 

This card is beautiful to send as a Christmas card with seasonal greetings and the ornament can be hung on the Christmas tree then saved to be used year after year as a winter holiday decoration. This keepsake can also be sent year round to an Alpine mountain lover or as a holiday reminder. 

Using lightweight birch plywood makes this nature inspired, rustic looking decoration great to send in the post and easy to remind of happy Switzerland memories. 

Adding personalisation to the back of the decoration will make the ornament extra special. A name, family name, date or favourite place in Switzerland can be added using the personalisation section.
